As part of a broader strategy to bring more venture capital to northern Sweden, Skellefteå Science City initiated the The Great Northern Capital Connect (TGNCC) project. TGNCC, run by Skelleftea Science City, is tasked with opening the channels between Norrland startups and national venture capital companies and business angels.

How can we jointly contribute to the growth of the new industries and development? We will ask this question during the next Sveriges Innovationsriksdag in 2021. After a concerted effort to bring it to Skellefteå, we are happy to finally have Sweden's largest innovation conference here! In recent years, Skellefteå has made a big impression on the regional, national and international innovation landscapes.

Sveriges Innovationsriksdag is organized by Swedish Incubators & Parks (SISP) and Skellefteå Science City, and is an annual conference for politicians, decisionmakers and employees of incubators and science parks.

AI NORTHERN NODE

The purpose of this project is to establish a node within AI Sweden in Northern Sweden - a distributed node in Luleå, Skellefteå and Sundsvall.

Inno Energy

InnoEnergy is Europe’s innovation engine for sustainable energy and is supported by EIT, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. InnoEnergy has seven regional offices in Europe. Now they have opened the eighth one in Skellefteå!

InnoEnergy aims to become the accelerator for the skills development and supply of expertise needed for the Northvolt establishment and the "new industrialization" that comes with such a huge project. This is an important piece of the energy cluster jigsaw in Skellefteå.
