A completely new ecosystem is being built in Skellefteå and it’s linked to one of Europe's largest industrial investments - Europe's first large-scale lithium-ion battery factory. The initiative presents both challenges and opportunities, where several societal stakeholders need to work together effectively to build a strong and viable business climate.
Skellefteå Science City works together with EIT InnoEnergy (The European Institute of Innovation and Technology) to create an industrial ecosystem for battery production in Europe.

ENERGY CONFUSION
The world needs new, smart and sustainable energy solutions for the future.
In 2021, for the second time, we will gather together important players from all over the world in Skellefteå to discuss and be inspired on new issues such as energy storage, electrification and smart energy solutions.
Energy ConFusion is arranged by North Sweden Cleantech.
North Sweden cleantech
Science City, together with Umeå and Örnsköldsvik, operates the innovation and export platform North Sweden Cleantech. Together with energy companies and incubators in the region, we are running several innovation projects to support the strong cleantech industry in northern Sweden.
By raising awareness of the region as a hotbed of innovation, we make it easier for participating companies to develop new products, solutions and ideas and make these available regionally, nationally and internationally.
