OUR PROJECTS

The climate smart innovation site of the future! The goal of the project is to increase the innovation and innovation power of small and medium-sized companies in the cleantech area in Västerbotten County and Örnsköldsvik Municipality.

Together with Finland we are working on a project aimed at increasing cross-border cooperation between cleantech companies, as well as strengthening the conditions for sustainable growth in the region.

Intersective Innovation aims to boost the innovation processes of our region’s small and medium-sized businesses by facilitating collaboration between companies that do not usually meet.

Interreg pre-study about skills and tools needed for remote work, interaction and innovation. Together with parties from five different countries, Skellefteå Science City has been granted funding to work on a feasibility study for remote collaborations aimed at SME’s.

The project focuses on collecting, refining and further developing knowledge about the gaming industry to strengthen the gaming industry both cross-border and locally. Qvarken Game Lab is a collaboration between Novia University of Applied Sciences, Åbo Akademi / Experience Lab, Centria University of Applied Sciences, Skellefteå Science City and Kramfors Municipality. The project is funded by Interreg Botnia Atlantica.

The project aims at strengthening the united action of different actors in the innovations support system. Focus is to engage small and middle-sized companies in the energy sector, together with investors to enable and boost speed to market for new services and technology.

The network "Vinkraft i Norr" will be the natural gathering place for companies in the wind power industry in northern Sweden. It is a forum where companies gather, exchange experiences and where business opportunities will be in focus. The network will pave the way for new markets, regionally, nationally and internationally.

This project is part of the ELIS program, aiming to place Skelleftea among the leaders of electric aviation and Advanced Aerial Mobility (AAM) The eVTOL project is a feasibility study, shaped to enable a live testing environment for the development the entire value chain in an eVTOL transport system.

Through this project, we want to contribute to strengthened international collaboration on terms that are attractive to SMEs within the computer game industry and thus contribute to increased exports, growth (not least in rural areas) and a better and more diversified business climate.

Pilot study: The project goal is to map the conditions for an implementation project where tests of how the game industry and creative industry can be a locomotive for twin transition in other industries, with a focus on the green and digital transition must be implemented.

INITIATIVES

Arctic Game is a collaboration between Umeå, Skellefteå, Piteå, Luleå and Boden to strengthen the game industry in northern Sweden. Skellefteå Science City is tasked with driving this initiative, with financial support from the municipalities, local regions and the EU project, Innovation Game 2.0.

Together with, Hello Future, Visit Skellefteå, Norma Coffee House and Fotograf Jonas Westling, we have created the initiative #backaskellefteå. The purpose is to back, support and develop Skellefteå's business climate and enterprise through the crisis that Covid-19 entails.

Skellefteå Science City is apart of the national platform AI Sweden, which is an initiative to accelerate applied AI in Sweden. Skellefteå Science City connects the local business and the public sector to the national network.

As a part of a larger strategy to get more venture capital to the northern parts of Sweden, Skellefteå Science City has initiated The Great Northern Capital Connect (TGNCC).

Innovator's Club is a series of exclusive events, lectures and workshops to aid renewal and development in established and traditional companies.
