SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - Arctic Game

The Skellefteå region is currently one of Sweden's most exciting growth regions with large industrial investments driving the green transition in Europe. Over 100 billion Euros  will be invested in the coming years in Skellefteå and northern Sweden. In addition to the strong traditional industries, the gaming industry is one of the fastest growing sectors. It’s an important contributor to the region's talent attraction; with a number of new games studios starting up and established companies growing rapidly on the international markets.

Skellefteå Science City is Skellefteå municipality’s development and innovation company with the mission of accelerating innovation for growth and green transition. Skellefteå Science City supports industry development and growth in; energy, e-mobility, games and AI sectors through our work with clusters, innovation projects and accelerator programs.

Skellefteå Science City also creates structures for innovation at a system level by developing innovative environments, contributing to an increased innovation capacity of businesses in our region. It showcases Skellefteå as an innovative place and works to attract businesses establishments, competence and capital to Skellefteå.

We are now looking to strengthen our team with a Senior Project Manager that can help us accelerate the gaming industry and the Arctic Game cluster.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Project Manager, you run national and international projects that contribute to the development of the gaming industry in northern Sweden. The majority of the projects are connected to the Arctic Game cluster, the fastest growing gaming cluster in Sweden. You will work closely with your colleagues and the Cluster Manager for games.

The activities take place in collaboration with national and international partners and a main part of your work is to drive our projects forward and keep all involved parties aligned towards our common goals. Travel is included in the position and you will have a great opportunity to influence how your work should be performed.

The position requires a great deal of independence, strategic and financial thinking as well as accuracy in documentation and administration. As a Senior Project Manager you will have financial responsibility for your projects. You report to the cluster manager and to the project's steering group, as well as sometimes to the CEO and our board.

Your main duties will be:

• Managing projects towards set goals with the help of colleagues and consultants
• Building and developing international networks
• Project administration

QUALIFICATIONS

You have an academic degree in a relevant field, alternatively other education in combination with work experience that is considered as equivalent. You have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

EXPERIENCE

At least 5 years experience of independently leading projects towards set goals with good results and extensive experience of working in projects with external financing. Experience in change management and leading complex assignments with many parties. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of business development, financing and internationalization. 

Experience from the gaming industry is not a requirement, but an interest in working in the industry and a strong  will to learn and understand how the industry works is required. Equally important is the desire to create good collaborations and business growth. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. International experience is a plus.
