We are now looking to strengthen our team with a Communication Manager that can help us strengthen and promote our brands, events and projects.

The gaming industry is an important contribution to the region's attractiveness for new talent, where new games are created, new companies are founded and established companies are going  global. 

Skellefteå Science City is the municipality's innovation and development company with the mission to  accelerate innovation for growth and the green transition. We create industry development in energy, e-mobility, games and AI by running innovation projects, clusters and accelerator programs.

The company also builds structures for innovation at the system level, develops innovation environments, contributes to increasing the innovation capacity of businesses, promotes Skellefteå as well as activities to attract establishments, competence and capital to Skellefteå.

In order to make all the exciting initiatives that Skellefteå Science City is working with visible and strengthen our own brand, we are now looking for a Communication Manager.


As our Communication Manager, you are responsible for developing and running Skellefteå Science City's communication, both operationally and strategically. In your work, you will make the business and its various initiatives visible through content production and analysis of social media, film, web and newsletters. You work towards several different target groups - such as businesses, politicians, investors, researchers and interest organisations - to communicate our offering and the values ​​we create.


  • Create awareness and promote our brands, projects and events
  • Plan, produce, adapt and distribute content, such as text, images, video in various channels and platforms
  • Be responsible for monitoring and updating the social media channels and web for the company
  • Support to project managers to spread communication about our projects, events and assignments
  • Follow up and analyse initiatives and campaigns
  • Build networks for our target groups
  • External environment monitoring including market trends and feed in relevant new knowledge into the organisation


To succeed, you need a relevant university education or equivalent education/experience that can be considered equivalent. You also need to have previous experience of working with both web and digital channels, be a skilled writer and have an aesthetic sense. You enjoy a high tempo and are happy to contribute with and test new ideas.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing is a requirement.


We are looking for someone who is confident with content production and analysis in social media and digital channels, but who can also do hands-on film and photo assignments. You have a feel for what captures the interest of different target groups, can adapt tonality, message and address and formulate messages in both text and other media. If you also have experience and interest in creating and running events, it is a big advantage.


As a person, you are driven, responsible and used to working against deadlines. You are a team player and find it easy to make new contacts.

You have no difficulties  with taking your own initiative and are therefore very independent. You have an eye for new trends and are eager to bring new ideas to the company, and thus always see new solutions and opportunities. You also have a strategic and analytical mindset, where insights and an agile approach are key to succeed in a digital and rapidly changing landscape, especially when working hands-on with performance marketing. You also know how the content should be created and optimised based on useful work and the technical possibilities and limitations of different platforms.
