Skellefteå Science City is the development and innovation company of Skellefteå municipality with the mission of accelerating innovation for growth and the green transition. The company creates industry development in energy, e-mobility, games and AI, by running innovation projects, clusters and accelerator programs.
The company also sets structures for innovation at a system level, develops innovation environments, contributes to increasing the innovation capacity of businesses, showcases Skellefteå as an innovative place, and works to attract establishments, competence and capital to Skellefteå.
We are now looking to strengthen our team with an advisory Business Developer who will contribute to Skellefteå's efforts to advance in the green transition and support companies on their growth journey.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will be part of a team that runs several development projects, mainly within energy and e-mobility, to position the region in the most exciting era of our time; the development of innovations and business models that support the green transition.
Your role as a Business Developer involves providing various forms of support for business development, in order to enhance the innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized companies in the region and foster growth within these companies. You will analyze company challenges, coach them towards growth, work on financial challenges, and lead various development efforts. The position requires a high degree of independence, strategic and financial thinking, as well as strong collaboration skills. You will become a vital part of our team and report to the relevant project manager and CEO. Travel is included in the position.
Your main duties include:
- Identifying business opportunities for small and medium-sized companies
- Providing advice to and coaching companies
- Developing business models and testbeds
- Matchmaking between SMEs and large companies
- Cultivating collaborations and networks
QUALIFICATIONS
You have an academic degree in a relevant field, alternatively other education in combination with experience that is considered equivalent and transferable. You have an advanced ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of business models, financing, and internationalization, as well as experience with externally financed projects.
EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years of relevant experience as a business developer, advisor, entrepreneur or consultant is desirable. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. International experience is advantageous.
